Life is getting tidier again. Site too, with one new proper page and a restored, or rather, rescued one. The new one is Wilfred & The Shell-Shocked, a poetry+ corner. The salvage expedition restoreth the literary page, now called Fireside Yarns . We’ll get there yet.
Stop Press: Some basic terms & conditions on the Legal page. And please feel free to use the Contact page. This IS a very quiet site, don’t you know…
Clocks back last night. Oyvai… Well, instead of killing myself I’ve decided to give the Great Cthulhu some labour problems. No pasarán!
It seems I will live, after all. To celebrate, I’ve posted stuff in the About This Site page. Not much. Just a potted biography, a hint of what this site is all about, and several self-portraits.
If the present benign trend holds, I might even start writing on the Gossip Column.
This is a repeat of the last post. Trying to be independent & things, I managed to fuck things up again and made the text disappear. Ole!
So, is over a month since I posted anything. Been down with dread bug. In between bouts of fever-induced delirium I managed to do that wee thing on the Great & Groovy Chtulhu. It’ll make no sense to anyone not familiar with the work of H.P. Lovecraft, but it might amuse those familiar with the fertile, if totally paranoid (and more than a tad racist) imagination of the recluse of Providence. He may have been a well fucked-up dude and not as good a writer as posterity has claimed, but you got to give to him, he created a beautifully consistent mythology and some of the best monsters ever to come out of a reactionary pen.
The other pic is yet another avatar of the very useful All-Purpose Gusanito. It won’t be the last, rest assured.
As said, capsule I must post, unhealthy so here is another tribute to that great defier of all known laws of physics, advice my good friend Thomas, The Beast of Balfron Tower. And the unspeakable things he does to electrical goods.
This must be the quietest site in the whole wide vastness of cyberbleedingspace. Still, online a girl must post… So, mind from Rats to Bats to Cats. And more beastie shenanigans.
Waiting for my missing bits /pages to be marched back to the fold, I’ve been killing time consorting with the Rats some more, and expanding the role of the human characters in Fun&Games@Wolfpark (to be posted soon as I resize it). Salut!
Oh, dear… Trying to be clever and independent, I’ve managed to fuck things up and the contents of About Dolores/this site page(s) and the Gossip category (and page) have gone AWOL. Or spontaneously moved somewhere else on the site. Damn! No big deal, though. The potted bio wasn’t all that informative after all, and the Gossip Column was as quiet as a Trappist convent. Al should be well as soon as my kindly webmaster has a firm word with those errant items. Meanwhile, have a reptile.
I’ve just posted a mini-bio in the About… section and a few more creatures in the Rogues Gallery. And here is the companion to young Olufemi’s woes. And a confrontational puss. And a pig, for good measure. Por mucho pan, nunca mal año, say the Spaniards…
There’s a new link on the site. It’ll take you to Wolfpark, a wolf conservation project in Battleground, Indiana, USA. One of the tutelary entities of the place is a chap called Monty Sloan, a professional photographer who seems to spend most of his time taking pictures of the animals who live there. …when he’s not out howling with the wolves on “Howl Nights”. Some people have all the luck, that’s what I think.
Once a week or so, they let loose some of the wolves, so they can interact with the bison. Some interaction! The wolves run rings around the bison and they steal their apples to boot, the cheeky blighters. I suppose it’s all very good for the bison, who look too prosperous for words and I’m sure they can do with a bit extra exercise.
Anyway, Monty’s asked me to do something suitable for printing on a T-shirt and sent me a pic of a bison chasing Wotan, one of the wolves in one of the several packs that roam the park. So, here goes the b&w version of what has emerged so far.
Other interesting lupine links are Monty’s own sites. Have fun!
